Benoit Mulin used to be in finance. His then girlfriend’s (now wife) best friend was engaged to Stéphane Tissot who was on his way to becoming a rock star of the Jura. Both married and the Mulin’s moved home to Jura to make some wine with the help of the now super star Stéphane. Together they created one of my favorite wines from that region.
The Crémant is 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir, all hand harvested from biodynamic vineyards, made in the traditional Champagne method, riddled for 15-18 months before bottling.
Full rich and creamy style is a dead ringer for Champagne at a fraction of the price with notes of fresh lemons and apples mixing with brioche and a lively mousse. It is not to be missed!
