Scott’s Pick: Recaredo Cava Rosat Brut Nature ‘Intens Rosat’

Distinct and delicious are a powerful combination, and that’s what you will find in Recaredo’s cavas. In terms of quality, every wine from this estate is a far cry from the bulk of 250 million bottles of Spanish sparkling wine produced each year.

Vineyards are farmed biodynamically. Grapes are hand harvested. Natural corks–as opposed to crowncaps–are used during aging before disgorgement. During this period, riddling is done by hand. Finally, disgorgement by hand is done without freezing the neck, and there is abosuletly no dosage before the final cork is added, where richness is derived from the land’s warm growing conditions. ALL are a rarity in Cavaland.

What’s in the bottle you ask? Beautiful red currant and dark cherry aromas along with fine bubbles and lively acidity. Even with the richness and additional texture from the color, there is a sublime lightness to this wine with bubbles, giving you almost limitless pairing flexibility. Distinct and delicious.
