Joe’s Pick: Ioppa Ghemme 2011

Consisting of *80%* Nebbiolo along with some Vespolina, this wine is made from organically grown fruit fermented in stainless steel and aged in Slovenian oak for 24 months before spending another 2 years in the bottle. This extended aging produces complexities and generous red fruit. On the nose, it boasts balsamic, floral and spiced notes. Typical of cooler climate Nebbiolo, it has an angular palate with bright acidity and moderate tannins. Perfect for fall fare.
