Texier is a household name to most natural wine enthusiasts. Over the years, Eric Texier has created a cult following for his minimal-intervention, mineral-rich style Rhône wines.
Eric’s son Martin, relatively new to the game, is doing the same with his offerings; making aromatic wines that communicate their varietal character and origin honestly while finding a way to do it without the use of sulfur.
His grenache bottling, “Indigene”, boasts beautiful floral and red fruit aromas, gorgeous texture and an immediacy of fruit on the palate that’s balanced by a fresh, herbal finish. It’s a wine which consciously recalls
traditional winemaking while not being just your Dad’s wine.
