Delivery & Shipping

You must be at least 21 years of age to order wine or spirits.

We are committed to offering our customers fast and low-cost (or free) delivery within New York City and beyond.

Free Neighborhood Delivery

Free delivery on all orders of $25 (pre-tax) or more in the immediate neighborhood (64th – 79th between Central Park West and Riverside Blvd).  We can generally accommodate same day deliveries within a half hour of placing the order but may have to push it to the next day depending on volume. Cut off time for same day delivery in the immediate neighborhood is 830p. If it is after 830p and you need same day delivery, please call the store at 212.201.1224 and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If no one is available to receive the package when delivery is attempted, your order may be subject to a $15 charge for a missed delivery.

Free delivery on all orders of $75 (pre-tax) or more in the general neighborhood (59th – 86th between Central Park West and 12th Ave or Riverside Blvd).

We can generally accommodate same day delivery within one hour of placing the order but may have to push it to the next day depending on volume.

Cut off time for same day delivery in the general neighborhood is 7p.  If it is after 7p and you need same day delivery, please call the store at 212.201.1224 and we will do our best to accommodate you.

If no one is available to receive the package when delivery is attempted, your order may be subject to a $15 charge for a missed delivery.

Delivery outside of the Upper West Side

We deliver free to anywhere in Manhattan below 125th St on orders over $150 (pre-tax). Delivery is generally next day. If you need same-day service please call us at 212.201.1224 and we will do our best to accommodate you. If your order is less than $150 and you’re not in the neighborhood, we charge $15 for delivery.

If no one is available to receive the package when delivery is attempted, your order may be subject to a $15 charge for a missed delivery.

Deliveries above 125th St, and outer Boroughs

We use FedEx and standard alcohol shipping rates apply. Packages must be signed for by an adult 21 years or older.  If no one is available to receive the package when delivery is attempted, FedEx leaves a notice and attempts delivery two more times if you do not arrange for another delivery time.  If the package is returned to us your order may be subject to a $15 charge for a missed delivery. 

Shipments to elsewhere in the U.S.

***Due to restrictive regulations, we currently cannot accept orders for shipment to the following states***

Alabama, Arkansas, Delaware, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Texas, Utah

We generally ship by Fedex Ground and simply charge you our cost. This cost will be shown to you at check-out before you finalize your order.

If you prefer overnight or other expedited shipping, indicate in a note at check out or give us a cal and we will let you know what additional charges apply. We generally ship out on Mondays to ensure that the wine does not sit in a Fedex warehouse over the weekend, although this will depend on your location, as Fedex Ground is 1-3 days to many states.

PLEASE NOTE

IF THE WEATHER IS PARTICULARLY HOT OR COLD IN EITHER NYC OR THE DESTINATION WE WILL NOT SHIP WINE, unless you request otherwise in writing. We will hold the wine for you at no charge until it is safe to ship.

Title on all Wine passes to the buyer at the time of purchase in the state of New York. If you require that your wine be shipped, you authorize Amsterdam Wine Co. to engage a common carrier to deliver the wine on your behalf. IF YOU CHOOSE TO SHIP YOUR WINE TO A NON-RECIPROCAL STATE, YOU ASSUME ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR COMPLYING WITH YOUR STATE’S LAWS REGARDING ALCOHOL SHIPMENTS.

 

Again, you must be 21 years of age to order or receive alcoholic beverages from Amsterdam Wine Co.. Any shipments containing alcoholic beverages are sent with an “Adult Signature Required” sticker, and the common carrier that delivers our merchandise is required to ask and check for identification upon delivery. This means that you will have to be present at the time of delivery.

 

Because we have no control over the temperature conditions at any 3rd party carriers’ warehouses, we always attempt to deliver wines to our 3rd party carrier at the beginning of each week so that you can receive your wine before the weekend. As a result, your wine may not be delivered to our 3rd party carrier the day that you place your order. Please understand that during business hours, your orders are immediately packaged and scheduled for delivery, but may be delayed until ideal conditions for shipment arise.

 

You are reminded that various states impose limitations on the quantity of alcoholic beverages which may be purchased and brought into their jurisdiction without requiring the purchaser, the seller or the shipper to possess certain licenses or permits. Amsterdam Wine Co., does NOT, as a condition of sale, assume any obligation nor bear any responsibility whatsoever for applying for or obtaining any such permits or licenses. Therefore, you are strongly advised to investigate such limitations and to determine the manner in which alcoholic beverages may lawfully be brought into states other than New York. Your are responsible for all applicable excise, use and sales taxes due to your state related to the purchase of any taxable goods.

 

Amsterdam Wine Co. makes no representation to the legal rights of anyone to ship or import wines into any state outside of New York. The Buyer is solely responsible for the shipment of wines and is responsible for any loss or damage to goods once they have left our premises. By placing an order, you authorize Amsterdam Wine Co. to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to deliver your order to you.
