Adam’s Pick: Icardi Cortese Piemonte L’Aurora 2014, $15
So if you’ve never heard of Cortese, it’s because it usually goes by the name of the place that famously grows it: Gavi. This is grown right outside the Gavi area so it’s not technically allowed to be called by that name, but this is to our benefit, because it’s hard to find a delicious Gavi for $15. Beautifully straw-colored, this is fresh and texutured, with underlying rich white fruit kept fresh by its citrusy zing. A no-brainer at $15.
