Casanova di Neri Rosso di Casanova di Neri 2013, $21
Casanova di Neri consistently produces some of the finest wines coming out of Italy. For better or worse, this had led to very high scores from critics and in recent years, soaring prices. Luckily for us, their entry-level Rosso, made from the younger Sangiovese vines that will eventually be dedicated to the flagship Brunello, is made to the same exacting standards of its costlier siblings. For Brunello character at an everyday price, this hits the spot. With aromatics of dark cherry, roses and spice, it’s incredibly delicious and hits way above the $21 price tag.
