Seth’s Pick: Avignonesi Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2013

Body: Medium

So this is from Montepulciano, the region in Tuscany, and is 100% Sangiovese. This estate dates back to the early 1500’s and just recently changed ownership, causing a bit of panic as to how the new owner would carry on. The 2013 was their first release and at 91pts (Wine Advocate & Wine Spectator), people are thrilled.

Soft and approachable, this wine shows all that Sangiovese is with it’s big ripe fruit and earthy core, dusty tobacco finish. A soft lush and round mouthfeel makes this an easy wine to love.
